Xander’s Coaching Review

Today I want to go a little different in terms of what I normally talk about here. First off, you will notice this is a review and this is something I was thinking about doing months ago, then I went and did it and now only getting around to writing it up. So what is Xander’s Coaching? Well as you might guess Xander’s Coaching is an online service offer over at Xander’s Gold Mine, which is a World of Warcraft Gold Making Blog. For those of you who don’t play the game, this post may not be useful to you, in which case, you can ignore it.

For starters, before I get into my review of the service, I want to stress that this is not just my opinion but overall my whole opinion of the Coaching Program that was started on JMTC months ago. The idea of the program was simple; Gold Makers can sell their services to help other players make gold in WOW. You may ask yourself why would anyone pay for this service? The very same reason anyone would buy a leveling guide (something I’ve done) or a gold guild (have done too) and why they can be worth the price you pay.

The Coaching Program.

It was started as a way to make money by the man himself, that would be Markco of JMTC. The idea was simple, given how popular JMTC is, you as a gold maker can sign up and pay a month fee to Markco, who then would pretty much give you advertising. To which case you would then get people to buy coaching from you.

The general idea of the program is simply that it requires little to no work on Markco’s part other than setting up what was a very simple and I must say sort of embarrassing design. I wouldn’t at all both to join this service which I think was stopped last month due to some massive drama that was causes. I won’t get into it, like all drama it’s pointless and only does one thing… makes everyone look bad.

You may wonder then, if the idea of the program was stupid, not really a scam, just that anyone could have join this program and sold themselves out there. I wondered to myself how many of these so-called “Coaches” where really worth the price they where asking. In this case, Xander charged 15 for a full one hour session. In fact most of the ones I found, where charging the same. It came down to choosing the one for this review.

Xander’s Coaching.

I must say, I came away from the session feeling I got my money’s worth. I been playing WOW since Oct 2007. I’ve been in the game of making gold since mid Wrath of the Lich King. So I believe I know my way around. Still even if you think you know all to know, we still have something to learn.

Xander’s information, everything that he gave me, showing what I needed to work on, things I could do away and stop doing. Given they where wasting my time and not making me gold. Was really helpful and I have to say that I did really feel like I got my money’s worth. While most of what he told me I already knew or anyone could find online if you knew what to look for.

That’s what it came down too. Was how he sold himself not only as a gold maker but as a business man. He was really quick on working with me on setting up a time where we could be online and he even went well over the time limit of the hour. In fact I’m pretty sure we only covered about half of what I could be doing. He had to go due to it was dinner time even still. He clocked nearly two hours with me online in-game and on Skype. This on itself is what made it worth it to me.

Do I recommend Xander?

Sort of not a total yes or a no. Two things you need to keep in mind here. I already knew much about the gold making world. I’ve sent in gold tips to JMTC, a member of the forms, listen to the podcast’s and as I said I have the gold guild. When I emailed him and gave him the run down of everything and what my problems where. He could tell I’m sure that I knew what I was doing.

For someone who might not know as much as I do, maybe the way he went about it would have been different. There is no real way for me to know. Most of what he told me could be found online if you search and really it came down to if he made me feel better about my problem and how I could go about to fix it. This will be different from person to person. If you’re looking for someone to teach you as they say baby steps on making gold. I am not 100% sure Xander or any one of these couches could do this. This is not a bad thing however.

My results.

The last part of my review, the question I’m sure your all wondering. Did it help me? Yes it did, in fact it help me start to think again. The main reason I even did buy into it was simply to see if I was losing my will to even play this game. I found myself bored of making gold, bored with leveling, everything and the more I read gold blogs, read forums and listen to C’s, the more I was seeing the bad things about the game.

In the end it spark me to do things I other wise wouldn’t have done. Such as I started playing both sides actively. I stop wasting time in markets that weren’t really worth my time. I got into markets I other wise didn’t bother to because I felt I didn’t have the time or gold.

I would like to close off by thanking Xander for taking the time to help me with my problems making gold and that he didn’t just cut the session off after the hour mark. Now do not go out and think he would do this for everyone. He could have really been an ass hole and asked for me to pay another 15 to keep going past the hour. Nor should you expect him to go over the time for everyone who buys his services.

Finally I like to hear form the readers on this one. Has anyone buy a coughing session? How did it turn out for you? Did it help you or did you walk away feeling ripped off? Leave a comment below and let me know whats up.

For those reading this, I want to point out a follow up. Do not buy Xander Coaching, if you happen to visit his site. I some what feel like I’ve been cheating out of money.

People get bored, people have issues in their life and need to take a break form the game. I fully understand this. However, Xander seem to disappear a month after our evening and on top of that his twitter and site went inactive and pretty much died.

I’m not sure if this has anything to do with the fall out form the weekly JMTC meeting or not but the whole Coaching Program may as just been a scam if you ask me. While I did get my service and I was not charged anymore after.

In other words, this review is pretty much a waste now sadly :/
