Some of you may know about this already, some of you may not. Well I’m a big fan of the general idea of a MMO and have and well always be a fan of Star Wars. That being said, I don’t agree with how the series went with the clone wars and the releases it over and over with different edits and versions. So whatever really.
When I heard about the Star Wars MMO I wasn’t really all that thrilled. As you all may know, I play World of Warcraft and have done so on and off since 2007. I suppose I could play other MMOs too but I’ve really been waiting for the Dragon Ball Online MMO sadly I doubt that will ever really come out out of beta or whatever its been in for 2 years now.
Anyways, a friend of mine on my Facebook page gave me some info about the new Star Wars MMO, the Old Republic. This isn’t the first time Star Wars has been an MMO, the first being Star Wars Galaxy which I couldn’t play all too well give the time my computer set up and how much space it required to install. It end up failing I believe, which has lead to not having a Old Republic 3 like we all hoped for but an MMO version.
I’ll likely write up more about it once I read more, I might if the price tag isn’t too costly as it will cut into my play time of WOW to play this, we’ll have to wait and see. Right now there seems to be no released date. While I signed up to take part in the beta thats going on. I doubt I’ll get picked for it, unlike I did with the WOW beta last year which I sort of feel bad that I didn’t spend more time playing around with it and putting out content for it.
So anyways, here is some of the latest info that was sent to me, check it out.
What do you think? Are you going to play once it comes out? Are you going to be a Jedi or a Sith?

Blizzcon 2010 Opening Ceremony
The Opening Ceremony has ended. Currently nothing really overly big has been said. The set up was really cool. Below I’ll break down the things that I’m looking at. Mainly I’m into Diablo and WoW and not so much on Starcraft. You can get all the latest news by going to Blizzards site however.
World of Warcraft
- The Moonkin Hatchling will be a new Charity Pet just like the Pandaren Monk, it will go on sale in November.
- Cataclysm will go live at Midnight on December 7th, PST Time.
- Cataclysm Digital pre-orders will be able to download everything before it goes live to make sure they can play instantly on release day.
- More info on Patch 4.1 will be revealed during the Raid & Dungeons Panel today.
Diablo 3
- Demon Hunter is the new class for Diablo 3. This feature will be playable at Blizzcon.
- PvP Arena Battles for Diablo 3. This feature will be playable at Blizzcon.
Today, I wanted to talk a little bit about Blizzcon 2010. Now now don’t get your hopes up, I’m not going to be there, I really wish I had the money and time to go to a real Blizzcon. Maybe next year if things work out. What I’m hoping for anyways, basically there is alot of news around this years Blizzcon. I’m going to post up some quick info about it as well as the in-game pet you get for going as well as other things.
It’ll be taking place the same place it has in the past at the Anaheim Convention Center taking place on October 22 and October 23, 2010. Like last year you can buy your tickets (which as of this are sold out) and be there in person or you can watch on PPV vial DIRECTV. I on the other hand don’t have DIRECTV, so for myself and others who don’t have DIRECTV, you can pick up Blizzcon on the online streaming site. It’s only $39.95, and you get the in-game pet for this year, I’m not sure what other items you might get for buying by the online stream.
You wont get everything and I really want some new cool pets but we’ll see if we get any other items. On the days of October 22nd and 23rd, I will be online watching and will be posting up to date info on whats going on. I’ll take some screen shots if I’m able to and post them as well.
