Some time’s there are people out there who can create really awesome work, it can be anything really, art, music, video, even a website. But some people no matter how hard they try, how hard they work they NEVER will find their way. Why do you think? Well there are some reason’s for this, some people will just whine and cry and bitch that no one sees them. That they never get the same viewers as others. This cane be anything, from live streaming, from page hits to YouTube likes.
At the end of the day there is only really one thing one can do about it, and that is you. You’re not gonna force people to like you, or even read what you have to say. Trust me I know this because I myself have travel that path. I’m 29 years old, I’ve been around as one could say. I’ve had friends back stab me, people use me and I’ve had some really good friends too. I have even sadly I must say this done wrong to people who other wise really didn’t deserve it.
But we can learn from it and in all my years, there was one quote and oddly it’s from a movie I really do like, and that simply is this:
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren’t looking for anything logical, like money. They can’t be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn. – The Dark Knight
This is true, you have people out there, in the community no matter what market you’re in, let it be Music, Gaming, web design, you name it.. there will be someone who doesn’t care about you. Shocking right? There’s gonna be someone who is out to make money, they don’t care how shady they are about it, they will do whatever, lie, cheat and steal to get it. With the way the world is, the way the economy is, I can’t say I really truly deep down blame these people. After all maybe they got screwed and this is all they can do now. Grated it doesn’t make it right, they just don’t know any better.
It’s about Style
Yes you heard me right, if you want to start-up a blog, let it be about WoW gold making, or you want to write movie reviews or say maybe dieting tips you need to have a style that is your own and on one else. Sure there will be someone like you but you need to reach deep inside, as Goku would say, you need to push hard to find it and when you do bring it out.
Some times finding that we need to look inside ourselves. What are our goals? If you’re making a product, you need to sell it and I understand that, some people do something because they can make money. Like blogging there is a whole lot of money to be made and everyone wants some of that pie. Some get a larger piece than others. That’s just life, some of us can make it very easy, some of us can just pick up a pen, or a camera and we can make magic happen.
If you find yourself out of luck, out of ideas or simply just scratching your head and looking at someone else and asking yourself why them.. why not me? I work just as hard if not harder. Well isn’t that how it always is? You see someone, it looks so easy, damn they aren’t even putting that much work into it.. and yet they get all the rewards and you get well nothing.
There is the problem, stop looking at them. Stop worrying about what everyone else is doing. This is a simple method that applies not just to running a website, let it be a blog, a gallery, a forum, whatever you’re doing. Stop thinking, “Damn look at what they did, I should try something like that.” NO don’t do that, you will find yourself being just a copy cat.
I got on a computer when I was 7 years old, back when computers where still kind of new to the general public, there was no public internet. It wasn’t until 1996 when I first login to this world we call the web now. I started up my very first web page called Richard’s Homepage on AOL, which was my service provider back in those days. That grew over the years into what I have now, and you’re looking at it. I’ve run message boards, some small some big. I’ve worked for people, I’ve written news articles, how to guides, I’ve design whole web sites, from the HTML and CSS code to the graphic images. I’ve messed with JAVA, JavaScript, flash before it was really the standard. I was on twitter when it was first starting, I was one of the first to make a MySpace account back before most even said the words ‘Social Network’.
The night is darkest just before the dawn. And I promise you, the dawn is coming. – The Dark Knight
The point I’m trying to make here is, that while I saw a lot of first and was there, I was quiet, I did my own thing, I learned and I made mistakes. We all do, don’t be so hard on yourself about it. I may have missed out on the boom that is now the blogging world, hell I was blogging before it was even called that. Find your style, what are you, who are you what makes you different? Take a moment and those people you look at and look up too, that you inspire to be like.. look at their styles.. wait.. do you see it? They are doing what? Their own thing.

I wasn’t really aware of these problems, but finally someone pointed it out to me. I’ve tested it a while ago and it worked, so I figure that I wasn’t writing good content for people. That my content was blah and not worth starting a discussion about. Turns out that might not be 100% the case, I’ve been told by two sources that while sign up works, up to the point you need to verified your email address. Which then the site breaks.
Looking into it, I believe I found the issue, the problem is I no longer have been using captcha, given that the only seeming to work plugin doesn’t work well with how I’ve set up the network. In that it doesn’t work and to top it of no longer even being supported. Meaning it’s dead. That being said for the moment I’ve disabled signing up, I’ve got some content I need to start doing again, that was mainly the last month the site has gone with no updates.
I really felt that no matter how much content I wrote, no matter how much work I put into it, no one really cared, even with the traffic numbers.. I thought it was weird. I’ve also after a while did a scan of the site and found some pages broken. I had no idea that the contact page was blank, which would explain some things as well.
All of these things will be fixed over the next few days. The time frame of when I write-up content wont be everyday, like I would really like to do. I simply don’t have that much to talk about really right now. There are some movies coming out soon, some other small things I’d like to share.
It’s been a while from the last time I’ve posted something, been working pretty hard on some projects like Majin Planet and working on a design site XfireSystems. So what is this livestreaming I speak of? Well for starters I’ve wanted to do it for a while but you know things like this you really can’t just jump into them and go with it. So over the last month I’ve been working to build up a good setup, software, hardware, and what I would stream. I got my webcam on my laptop working again and I set up a program called Xsplit.
Would like to thank everyone who stop by to watch my live stream, trolls or not I had fun and I know I was pretty nervous doing it. Everyone was really cool and nice about my speak issues as well as how badly my sound was running. It was chopping and some times is hard to understand and the video isn’t that good, not as good as I would like. I also wanted to get the chat box to show, but I simply couldn’t get it to show the way I want.
Thanks to Jim from Power Word Gold for his great tips in helping me get my livestream working. For those who watch it later on, the whole thing is three parts, even know I only recall restarting the stream once. You can check it out on Twitch.TV here. Below is the main part which is about 2 hours long. Mainly just me talking to those in the chat room, doing some dailies and pvp on my hunter.
[UPDATE: The livestream was removed and for the time being they are on hold until I figure out a better setup]
I thought about online chat and IRC room for a long time, I even at one point was thinking about setting up a vent server (which I had done for a time) for fans to chat it up. But when you think about the time and money it requires to set up a vent server for online chat form a website point of view, the cost would be way too high. That is if I had my own personal server, which I don’t.
There really was a moment in time when I had to think about it, think about what was gonna be best for what I wanted to have. The main goal of the forums was to build a community of people who enjoy what I bring them, content wise. That over time just didn’t seem to work.
That being said, I decided that I would set up an IRC channel, what is IRC you ask?
Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a protocol for real-time Internet text messaging (chat) or synchronous conferencing. It is mainly designed for group communication in discussion forums, called channels, but also allows one-to-one communication via private message[as well as chat and data transfer, including file sharing.
So what are the goals with the IRC channel?
The main goal is to provide the fans and users of the site to quickly and the best way I’ve found to chat up and discuss topics.
Who can use the Room?
Anyone who has access to IRC. The room is open to anyone and is free to use. There are no ads other than the one’s place by the host of the service. This out of my control, however you can simply block them using AdBlocker Plus.
There aren’t any other rules other than simply be polite and nice, if I find people in there being ass holes to other people or to me itself (ex; your site sucks, etc) I will simply kick you, if you keep doing it I’ll ban you. I also understand the room may not be very busy or have many users if none (then myself) in the room, but I’ll do my best to spread the word and get people in they’re chatting it up.
If you have any questions, comments please let me know in the comments below or you can tweet me at @NeckarUnrivaled. Thanks for reading, I’m sorry today’s post was so short, I plan on releasing a new hopefully long going blog series tomorrow, more details about it tomorrow or you can simply ask me in IRC.

I think it’s really no shocker when those of you who might come by the site would find the ‘community’ link missing or giving a 404 error now. That would be due to the fact the message board is no longer opened. So what happen? How could the forums which where so big back in the day on Majin Planet fail here? The answer to that question is pretty simple and the short answer is, this isn’t Majin Planet.
The long answer is a little bit more, my fault; in fact that’s the best way I can put it. I didn’t put enough time, effort into making the move good for everyone. I would have to say we lost a good 90% of the community by moving, a good number of people who posted on the forums I’m sure where confused as to why. The main goal of the move was to creature one community, a community that now almost 2 years going has yet to come to past.
So what happened really?
Like I stated above, the real issue came when I moved the site and stated the reasons was to save money. At the time, I was finding less and less content and reasons to post on Majin Planet forums as a whole. Not that I didn’t enjoy it, but frankly the whole ‘message board’ ideal died out to me. I still enjoy reading, in fact I visit a number of forums still to this day but I don’t post anything.
I think the media has changed and I would prefer to be able to post my little ‘topics’ as a blog and have everyone post comment and create discussion this way then having it just simply fall to the waste side like it end up doing. I really do feel bad about it and I feel like I let down most if not every last member who held out to the end. I think it’s come to past, that Majin Planet is officially dead now, lost as an artifact to a time when the anime community was full of life and webmaster who help each other out.
Is there still hope?
Yes.. there is always hope that one day the community will return. But right now, the traffic to both sites, this one and Majin Planet is pretty low and I don’t see it going up for Majin Planet any time soon. I’ve lost contact with every last music video maker who made a video and most of them if not all of them likely don’t even make anime music videos anymore. I almost feel like that AMV’s have died and come down to what silly take episode to music and call it an AMV has gone to the waste side to YouTube. I think any good AMV’s are now on AnimeMusicVideo.org.
However the case, I do have real fear for Majin Planet that it might have to shut down with the SOPA deal, even know the latest reports state it was put on hold.. doesn’t mean it’s dead. Even with say a new Dragon ball series to come, even Kai last year didn’t do enough for me to breathe life into the site, the horrible movie, the slow dying anime community, my lack of passion really was the nail.. but there is still hope.
There are plans to move Majin Planet into a more simple form they’ll just show the music videos and nothing more. While I like to have information, it can be found on the number of wiki sites or a simply Google search now days.
What’s in store for the future?
Right now I plan on making the final move for Majin Planet into a simple form that will be easy for me to update, as I have no plans for future Music Videos. However that doesn’t mean 100% that it wont happen. We’ll see, I really don’t have the hard drive space for clips now to be honest with you. Right now, as it comes in terms of the community my main goal is to make content again, I have some idea and I’ll hopefully get some real passion going again to write something you’ll enjoy reading.
Please take a moment and leave me a comment, maybe you found something I wrote you like to speak out about? You can always email me or use the contact form. Some times I wonder if people are even able to make comment easy. Do you have trouble making a comment? Maybe you get some sort of error message? A loud spoken community of users can get things done, even if they are small.
